Buffalo, NY - The D'Youville women's lacrosse team earned back-to-back Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Players of the Week as sophomore midfielder Tiffany Cristofanelli (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) has earned the honors this week.
Tiffany scored three goals with seven draw controls, two ground balls, and five shots on goal against Fredonia last Wednesday afternoon. It was the third time this season that Cristofanelli has scored at least three goals in a game.
In the first two games of the season, Cristofanelli was a major reason for the women's success. She scored four goals with five ground balls, four caused turnovers, and two draw controls in the 18-12 victory over Houghton. She then added three goals with and an assist with two caused turnovers, two ground balls, and a draw controls in the 17-3 rout of Elmira.
Thus far in 2020, Tiffany is second on team with 10 goals and tied for second on the team with 11 points. In addition, Cristofanelli is third on the team in draw controls (10) and caused turnovers (6) while ranking fourth in ground balls (9).
As a freshman last season, Tiffany made a huge impact First season as a Spartan. She played in and started in 17 games, finishing first on team in assists (13), shots (90), and shots on goal (78). She was second in goals (35), points (48), and fourth in draw controls (33) as well.
At Niagara-Wheatfield High School, Tiffany played six years of lacrosse and five years of soccer. She was named a NFL Second Team player twice and won the ACE Award. She also played club lacrosse for Stampede Lacrosse and NWAA.
Tiffany's role model is her older sister Brittany - a senior in the Nursing program and a captain on the women's soccer team. Like Brittany, Tiffany is a Nursing major. She is the daughter of Sheri Drew-Cristofanelli and Anthony Cristofanelli.
