Late Goals Get Spartans to Overtime; Alfred Edges DYC 3-2

Alfred, NY- A pair of late second-half goals got the D'Youville women's soccer team to overtime but host Alfred University ended the contest in the 107th minute to get the 3-2 win.

Down 2-0, Terra Juda (North Tonawanda, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) halved the deficit in the 75th minute with her third goal of the season. Melissa LaVere (Clarence, NY/Williamsville East) evened the score in the 84th minute with her second of the season.

After a scoreless first overtime, Alfred's Mariana Crevison ended the game and completed her hat trick in the 107th minute. Crevison also tallied in the 33rd and 47th minute to give the Saxons a 2-0 lead.

This is the fourth time this year D'Youville has gone to extra time in a match. The Spartans are winless in overtime matches this season (0-2-2).

D'Youville (4-3-2) starts the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference portion of the schedule September 28 at Pitt-Greensburg. Start time is 3:00 p.m.
