Buffalo, NY - Goalkeeper Megan Dulniak (Cheektowaga, NY/Cheektowaga) helped her team accomplish an undefeated week in conference play, leading to her selection of Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Defensive Player of the Week.
Dulniak began the week with a 14-save performance against Pitt.-Bradford as the Spartans tied the Panthers 1-1 in 2OT. She then followed up with a 12-save shutout against La Roche in a 2-0 win, her second shutout of the conference schedule.
Time and time again, Megan has come up big for her team. She has been one of the best goalkeepers in the conference throughout her career and this year has been no different. Megan leads all goalies with 38 saves in conference play. She has allowed just one goal and is third in goals against average (0.31) and save percentage (.974). Her two shutouts are tied for first in the conference.
In 2017, Dulniak played and started all 19 games in goal. She led team in wins (8), shutouts (9), saves (148), minutes played (1729:18), and goals against average (1.14). Megan finished the season tied for first in shutouts, second in save percentage, third in saves, fourth in wins, and fourth in minutes played in the AMCC. At season's end she was the recipient of team's Spartan Award and named an AMCC Second Team All-Conference selection.
As a sophomore, Dulniak began season by recording five shutouts in the team's first six games. She finished tops in AMCC in save percentage and shutouts, second in goals against average, tied for fourth in wins, and was fifth in saves at the end of the season.
To begin her career in 2015, Megan quickly established herself as an elite goalie in the conference. She was named an AMCC Third Team All-Conference selection as a freshman after starting all 17 games and playing every minute for the Spartans. Dulniak finished top 5 in the AMCC in goals against average (first), shutouts (second), save percentage (third), goals against (fourth) and saves (fifth).
At Cheektowaga High School, Megan was a diverse student-athlete. She played soccer and softball for four years each while bowling for six years. In soccer she was First Team All-WNY (2014) and First Team ECIC All-Star (2011-2014) selections, Team Defensive MVP (2011-2013), Team MVP (2014), and First Team All-Bee Team (2014).
Megan is currently one of the best goalkeepers in the program's history as she holds several records and is on her way to breaking more. In addition to soccer, Megan is also a member of the women's lacrosse team.
An ESS major, Megan is the daughter of Leon and Maryann Dulniak.
