Women's Tennis Stays Hot with Third Consecutive Win

Williamsville, NY – The D'Youville women's tennis team kept rolling on their current hot streak, defeating the Pitt.-Greensburg Bobcats Saturday evening by the final score of 5-4. for their third consecutive victory.

Alisson Meissner (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) came up big for the Spartans on Saturday, helping the women pick up a pair of points. She defeated her opponent in her singles match by the scores of 6-0, 6-0 to earn a point, but picked up another point with the help of Bryannia Sutton (Mexico, NY/Mexico) in their doubles match with the score of 8-4.

As they have done in the last several matches, Lauren Karoglan (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) and Gillian Wittig (Depew, NY/Depew) dominated their singles and doubles matches. The two combined for an 8-1 doubles victory while Karoglan won her singles match 6-0, 6-2 and Wittig won her singles match 6-3, 6-2.

The entire team had solid efforts across the board with Dena Iadanza (Vestal, NY/Vestal), Amanda Waliszewski (Sanborn, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield), and Lexi Dickson (Hamilton, Ont./Frontier) all played well.

The next match for the women comes this Tuesday, September 25 as they travel to play Fredonia at 5:30pm.
