Women's Tennis Wraps up Regular Season on Route to Postseason

Buffalo, NY – The D'Youville women's tennis team lost a close match the Medaille Mavericks on Friday evening by the final score of 5-4.

The Spartans top duo of Lauren Karoglan (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) and Gillian Wittig (Depew, NY/Depew) earned three big points for the women against the Mavericks. Karoglan and Wittig teamed up to defeat the top Medaille doubles pairing 8-1 while Karoglan won her singles match 6-1, 6-2 and Wittig won hers 6-4, 6-0.

Alisson Meissner (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) took her singles match 6-3, 6-4 while Dena Iadanza (Vestal, NY/Vestal) and Amanda Waliszewski (Wheatfield, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) battled hard in their doubles match, narrowly losing.

Lexi Dickson (Hamilton, Ont./Frontier), and Bryannia Sutton (Mexico, NY/Mexico) also batted hard in their matches.

The next match for the women will come in the playoffs as they await their postseason opponent.
