Tennis Falls to Reigning Conference Champs

Orchard Park, NY - The D'Youville women's tennis team saw their three-match conference win streak come to an end on Sunday morning as the fell to the Franciscan Barons 9-0.

Amanda Waliszewski (Sanborn, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) and Lexi Dickson (Hamilton, Ont./Frontier) got their first taste of the number one doubles pairing and competed well against the Barons top pairing. Faith Falkowski (Batavia, NY/Notre Dame) and Julia Clapper (Cleveland, OH/Highland) also played well in their doubles match, as did Alisson Meissner (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) and Taylor-Anne Austin (Buffalo, NY/Hutch Tech).

Waliszewski played a very close match in her singles matchup with the best score of all the Spartans. Austin and Katrina Whipple (Buffalo, NY/Hutch Tech) both played tough opponents while Meissner, Clapper, and Falkowski all played strong matches.

THe next match for the women will come Friday, October 4 as the women play at Medaille beginning at 5:00pm.
