Buffalo, NY - For the second consecutive season, the D'Youville women's tennis team is heading to the AMCC playoffs as the women gear up to host the fifth seeded Pitt.-Bradford Panthers this Saturday afternoon.

D'Youville has put together a strong season and come into today's playoff match with five wins in their last six conference matches. Of their three losses, just one has been by more than a point. The women have remained consistent throughout the season and have competed match in and match out.

In the last conference match against Behrend, the women picked up the 6-3 win through a total team effort. Amanda Waliszewski (Sanborn, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) helped earn two points with a singles win as well as a win with her doubles partner Lexi Dickson (Hamilton, Ont./Frontier). Julia Clapper (Cleveland, OH/Highland) and Faith Falkowski (Batavia, NY/Notre Dame) each earned points as doubles partners and single players while Dena Iadanza (Vestal, NY/Vestal) and Lauren Karoglan (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) each had singles wins as well.

Earlier this season, the Spartans defeated Pitt.-Bradford 6-3 on the road. Karoglan and Alisson Meissner (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) earned a point as doubles partners and a point each as singles players. Clapper and Falkowski won their doubles match with Falkowski and Lilly Nguyen (Rochester, NY/Penfield) earning points in their singles wins.

Bradford defeated the Penn State-Altoona Lions 6-3 in their last match last Saturday. To begin the season, the Panthers got off to a rough start as they went 1-5 through their first six matches but have come on strong as of late with four consecutive wins on their way to the fifth seed in the AMCC playoffs.

The Bobcats had three matches decided by one point or less and seven decided by three points or less. Bradford has been extremely competitive in matches this season.

The winner of today's match will take on the top seeded Franciscan Barons next Saturday, October 19 at 3:30pm at Westwood Racquet Club in Erie, PA.
