Season Ends in AMCC Semifinals for Women's Tennis

Erie, PA - The D'Youville women's tennis team saw their season come to a close on Saturday afternoon as they lost to the top seeded Franciscan Barons in the AMCC Semifinals by the final of 5-0.

Franciscan took all three doubles matches for three early points against the Spartans. Julia Clapper (Cleveland, OH/Highland) and Faith Falkowski (Batavia, NY/Notre Dame) were strong in their doubles match with Lauren Karoglan (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) and Alisson Meisnner (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) earning the same score.

In their singles matches, Karoglan, Dena Iadanza (Vestal, NY/Vestal), and Amanda Waliszewski (Sanborn, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) all played well, but the Barons were able to grab two additional points to win the match. Lexi Dickson (Hamilton, Ont./Frontier), Clapper, Falkowski, and Meissner all battled hard in the loss, with the Spartans turning in an excellent 2019 season.

The women finished the season as the fourth seed in the AMCC playoffs after a 5-3 conference record during the regular season. They advanced to the AMCC Semifinals after defeating Pitt.-Bradford in the first round of the AMCC playoffs.
