Women's Volleyball Gets Back to Winning Ways

September 23rd, 2014 - The D'Youville Women's Volleyball Team got back on track as they defeated Alfred University 3-0 Tuesday evening.

D'Youville defeated Alfred University in straight sets 25-20, 25-23 and 25-19. As a team, D'Youville had 33 kills and 55 digs to go along with 5 service aces.

Leading the way in the kills collum for the Spartans was freshman Megan Schneider (Lockport, NY/Lockport). Schneider also chipped in with 9 digs and 13 points. Sophomore Savannah Brayton (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) led the team in digs with 21, and added 1 service ace.

Head Coach Stephanie Kazmierczak was pleased with her team's performance on Tuesday evening. "Great team effort tonight. Everyone was making plays happen. It was great to see it all come together."

Kazmierczak hopes that this win can push the team in the right direction for the upcoming conference play. "Now we have momentum going into conference matches Saturday.

The next game for the D'Youville Women's Volleyball Team is a double-header this weekend against Franciscan University at 1pm and Penn St.-Altoona at 3:30pm. Both games are at home apart of D'Youville's homecoming weekend.
