Volleyball Gets Back To Action, Loses to Medaille

Buffalo, NY - The D'Youville Women's Volleyball Team was defeated by conference rival Medaille 3-0 on Tuesday night after over a week of no games.

Medaille beat D'Youville in 3 sets with the scores 25-15, 25-16 and 25-9. As a team, the Spartans had 19 kills, 18 assists and 26 digs.

Freshman Megan Schnieder (Lockport, NY/Lockport) led the Spartans in kills with 6 and chipped in with 3 digs. Sophomore Savannah Brayton Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) led the team in digs with 7. Freshman Abby Booth (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) led the team by a landslide with 16 assists.

Head Coach Stephanie Kazmierczak was pleased with the team's effort, but doesn't want to settle for the team's result. "I think that was one of the best defensive efforts this season," she said, "we just need to get back in the gym and work out a few kinks."

The game didn't go the way Kazmierczak had hoped, but she said there "were a lot of positives to take away from it."

The next game for the D'Youville Women's Volleyball Team is Saturday, October 11th at Cazenovia. The game begins at 12pm.
