Stewart Named to All-Tournament as Spartans Leave PSB Winless

Erie, PA – In the final game of the Penn State-Behrend Invitational, the D'Youville women's volleyball team couldn't correct their current skid as the fell in three sets to Frostburg State by the score of 3-0.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Grimm (Erie, PA/Iroquois) had a big day, recording 27 digs, a team high this season. Christina Horton (Irondequoit, NY/West Irondequoit) had 10 digs, followed by Megan Schneider (Lockport, NY/Lockport) and Cortlynn Cartonia (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) with 9 each. Freshman Julie Fleming (Tonawanda, NY/Mt. St. Mary's Academy) led the team with 3 blocks.

On offense, Schneider had a team high 7 kills and Fleming had 6 kills. Abby Booth (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) was outstanding as well; distributing a season high 30 assists.

Kaylee Stewart was named to the All-Tournament Team. Stewart was the team leader in kills in back to back games on Friday.

The women will look to turnaround their current losing streak as they return back to Buffalo for their first home game of the season Wednesday, September 16th at 7pm against St. John Fisher.
