D'Youville Women Lose Back-to-Back On Day Two of Oswego Tournament

Oswego, NY – The D'Youville women's volleyball team suffered back-to-back losses on day two of the Oswego State Tournament, losing to Sage and Hartwick by the final scores of 3-0 and 3-0 on Saturday.

In game one against Sage, the Spartans were defeated in straight sets 25-19, 25-20,25-20. Megan Schneider (Lockport, NY/Lockport) led the team with 7 kills and had 12 digs, second on the team. Kaitlyn Grimm (Erie, PA/Iroquois) had 13 digs to lead the team with Kendyll Smith (Petrolia, PA/Karns City) adding 9 to the team total. Abby Booth (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) led the team with 15 assists and added 2 kills and 5 digs.

In the second game of the day, the outcome wouldn't fare any better for the Spartans. The women lost in three sets to Hartwick by the scores of 25-15, 25-14, 25-18. Julie Fleming (Tonawanda, NY/Mt. St. Mary's Academy) and Schneider tied for a team high with 4 kills each. Grimm again led the team in digs for the second straight game, recording 14.

Kaylee Stewart (Wilson, NY/Wilson) combined for 8 kills in the 2 games and Savannah Brayton (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) had 11 digs combined.

The women will be in action again on Tuesday, September 22nd at home against Alfred University at 7pm.
