Buffalo, NY - Following an undefeated week in conference play, junior Abby Booth (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) has been named the AMCC Player of the Week for women's volleyball.
Over the weekend, the Spartans won back-to-back games against La Roche and Pitt.-Greensburg in commanding fashion. Abby combined for 32 assists, 13 digs and four service aces. Against Greensburg in their second game of the day, Booth led the team in assists (15), service aces (3) and total blocks (2).
In their first game of the winning streak, Booth had a massive game against the Penn State-Behrend Lions. Leading the team with 28 assists and a career high 25 digs, Abby was outstanding in helping her teammates succeed as well as on the defensive end. She added three kills and two service aces in D'Youville's first win over Behrend in 16 years.
This season, Abby leads the team with 361 assists and 30 service aces. She is fourth in with 115 digs to go along with 75 kills and eight total blocks. The team has a 4-2 conference record and is third in the AMCC.
Last season, Booth was second on the team in assists with 196 after her season was cut short by injury. She added 15 service aces to go along with 86 digs in 13 matches.
