Buffalo, NY - The D'Youville women's volleyball team have reached the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference playoffs for the second straight season and are set to visit the number four La Roche Redhawks on Wednesday evening.

D'Youville finished the season with a 12-14 overall record and a 5-4 conference record. The Spartans finished their season by winning five of their last six conference matches, including their final three. On the final day of the regular season, D'Youville clinched a playoff berth and the fifth seed with a 3-1 victory over Franciscan.

A high-powered senior class has led the women throughout their season. Offensively, setter Abby Booth (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) has been huge in working with senior outside hitters Kendyll Smith (Petrolia, PA/Karns City) and Megan Schneider (Lockport, NY/Lockport). Booth leads the team with 337 assists, 4.16 assists/set, 42 service aces, and 0.52 service aces/set. She ranks in the top-10 in the AMCC in all of those categories.

As for the duo of Smith and Schneider, they have powered the offense throughout the season. Smith leads the team with 206 kills, 2.37 kills/set, and is second with a .169 hitting percentage. She had 11 matches of double-digit kills and is in the top nine in the AMCC in both kills and kill/set. Schneider is second on the team with 203 kills and 2.31 kills/set and is in the top 13 in both categories in the conference.

Defensively, senior Alexandra Bubar (Wilson, NY/Wilson) has been one of the top Liberos in the AMCC. She leads the team with 380 digs and 4.22 digs/set and has recorded double-digit digs in 20 of 26 matches this season. Adding to her all-around game is Schneider who is second with 293 digs and 3.33 digs/set. Her nine double-doubles lead the team as she has recorded nine matches of double-digit kills and 17 of double-digit digs. Both Smith and Booth have also had their contributions on the defensive end. Booth is third on the team with 183 digs and fourth in blocks at 17 while Smith is third on the team with 26 blocks.

In the middle. Julie Fleming (Tonawanda, NY/Mt. St. Mary's Academy) and Lauren Conley (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) have been great on both sides of the ball. Fleming is third on the team with 117 kills but Conley is right behind her with 111. Conley is the team leader with 48 blocks while Fleming follows with 36.

The women have had three sophomores play important roles on the team this season. McKenna Cartonia (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) is second on the team with 291 assists and 33 service aces to go with 175 digs, which is fourth on the team. Jasmine Filkov (North Collins, NY/North Collins) is fifth in digs with 156 and fourth in service aces with 24 as Samantha Murray (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) has added 93 kills.

La Roche finished the regular season with an 11-17 overall record but a very strong 6-3 conference record. The Redhawks have the top players in terms of digs and kills in the AMCC, boasting strong abilities on both sides of the ball. They surrendered the second lowest amount of sets loss in the AMCC at 10.

Earlier this season, La Roche defeated the Spartans 3-0 at La Roche. Smith led the team with 12 kills while Booth recorded a double-double with 14 assists and 10 digs. Schneider narrowly missed a double-double with nine kills and 10 digs. Bubar led the team with 16 digs.
