Rochester, NY – The D'Youville women's cross country team ran in the Harry F. Anderson Invitational on Saturday morning, finishing 16th overall.
Samantha Ruszczyk (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) was the top runner for the Spartans with a time of 19:48.8. Following behind her were Rachel Luczak (Lancaster, NY/Immaculata) and Stephanie Lisiecki (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca East) ran under 23 minutes for the women with times of 22:18.0 and 22:55.9 respectively.
Kaitlyn Furtado (Asushnet, MA/Fairhaven) came in with a time of 23:13.2 with Rachel Johnson (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown) running a time of 24:47.1. Jenna Donati (Depew, NY/Depew) completed the course with a time of 25:20.5 and Danielle Couch (Wheatfield, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) had a time of 26:19.0.
Sara Fitzgibbons (Oswego, NY/Oswego), Joanna Elledge (Lockport, NY/Wilson), Alexis Dymond (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West), and Mary Blackley (Lockport, NY/Blackley Academy) all had strong races for the D'Youville.
The next race for the women comes next weekend on Saturday, September 29 as they participate in the Geneseo Invitational.
