Men's Soccer Suffers Loss to Westminster

Buffalo, NY - The D'Youville men's soccer team suffered a loss Wednesday evening to the Westminster Titans by the final score of 5-0.

Westminster came out with a very strong offensive attack in the game. Both Brandon Pauly (Owego, NY/Owego) and Dan Tarbell (Clarence, NY/Clarence) started to get the offense going for D'Youville, but were unable to find the back of the net.

The Titans then registered 11 shots in the first half before the team finally found the back of the net in the 39th minute to take a 1-0 lead. They would take their 1-0 lead into the locker-rooms after the first 45 minutes of play.

In the second half, Westminster would double their lead quickly after just 2:15 of play to take a 2-0 lead. Just over 10 minutes later they would add their third goal of the game for a 3-0 advantage. The Titans would go on to add two more goals by the end of regulation to win the game by the final of 5-0.

Pat Mann (Brighton, NY/Brighton) led the team with two shots in the game. Corey Sikora (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore) and Peter Petruzzo (Clarence, NY/Clarence) shared time in net, making a combined nine saves. 

The men will travel to Buffalo State on Friday, September 16th to play the Bengals at 4pm for their next game.
