Josh Hammer
Title: Men's Soccer Graduate Assistant

Josh Hammer joins the coaching staff as the team's graduate assistant in 2019 after a historic playing career for the D'Youville men's soccer team.

Hammer finishes his career as arguably the best player in program history following a four-year career. Of 65 games he played, Hammer started all 65 of them and recorded seven goals, two assists, 16 points, and two game winning goals all from a center back position.

As a senior, Josh was named an AMCC Second Team All-Conference selection, team MVP, and Co-Male Athlete of the Year. He was tied for second in goals and tied for third in points as a center back.

During his junior season, Hammer scored a career high three goals as he was a target player on set pieces. As a sophomore and freshman, Josh scored a goal each and was named an AMCC Third Team All-Conference selection as a freshman, sophomore, and junior. He was his team's MVP as a sophomore and junior as well as his senior season.

Josh is the first and youngest player in program history to make an all-conference appearance (freshman season), to be named team captain (sophomore through senior season), and the only player to make an all-conference team every year of his career.

With his presence in the back, the Spartans made the playoffs back-to-back seasons for the first time in program history as well. His leadership and tools such as size, speed, strength, agility, soccer IQ, footskill, vision, and jumping are all what make him one of the best players in the conference and one of it not the best to ever play for D'Youville.
