Darian Evans joined the coaching staff in the summer of 2019 as an assistant coach following a four-year career as a D'Youville student-athlete.
Evans played four years for both the women's basketball and softball teams at D'Youville and was an outstanding student-athlete in both. For the women's basketball team, Darian served as team captain for her junior and senior seasons.
At the conclusion of her career, Darian ranked second all-time in program history in blocks (116) and sixth in rebounds (500). Evans' senior year saw her average career highs in scoring (9.9 PPG), minutes (30.6 MPG), rebounds (7.3 RPG), assists (1.6 APG), steals (1.1 SPG), and blocks (1.8 BPG). She scored a career high 24 points and grabbed a career high 18 rebounds during her senior season.
As a junior, Darian started all 25 games, led team in blocks (1.2 BPG), was second in rebounds (6.0) and FG% (41.2), tied for second in steasl (1.0), third in scoring (7.8 PPG), and fourth in assists (1.4 APG). In her sophomore season, Evans played and started 24 games and led the team in blocks, was second in rebounding, and third in scoring. She played in 25 games as a freshman and was fifth on the team in rebounding.
Continuing her education at D'Youville, Darian is currently in the ESS/DPT program.
