Cheektowaga, NY - The D'Youville women's bowling team took part in their final match before the AMCC Round Robin on Sunday evening, falling to the Medaille Mavericks 0-2.
Medaille took the team match against the Spartans with the final score of 881-652. Rebecca Weiss (Williamsville, NY/Mt. St. Mary Academy) was the women's top bowler with a score of 142, followed by Chloe Strong (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore West) with a 138 and Ashley Len (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) with a 135. Allison Imiola (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) and Rebecca Hennessy (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) bowled 125 and a 112 respectively.
In the baker match, the Mavericks would once again best D'Youville by the final of 904 to 730 in a five game set. In game five, the Spartans bested Medaille 148-123 while their best game came in game two with a score of 166.
Head coach Susan Jeziorski said that she had selected an oil pattern that the women would be using at the AMCC Round Robin this coming weekend to get the women some additional experience.
"We had a tough go of it, but by the end we had found an area that the girls were more comfortable playing," said Jeziorski. "We will be doing some equipment adjustments heading into the weekends next AMCC Round Robin. I have faith the they will pull through at this event."
The round robin will be the final event of the season for the Spartans, taking place on Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8. Both days will be hosted by Mount Aloysius.
