Title: Assistant Women's Soccer Coach

Rey Martinez is a long-tenured assistant coach of the D'Youville men and women's soccer coaching staff with an extensive background and professional playing career.

Martinez began his professional playing career for Ciudad la Habana before leaving to play for the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer - the top professional soccer league in the United States. He would then go on to play for the Rochester Rhinos, St. Louis Steamers, Baltimore Blast Carolina RailHawks, New Jersey Ironmen, Real Maryland Monarchs, Philadelphia KiXX, Rochester Lancers, and Syracuse Silver Knights.

As for his international playing career, Rey represented Cuba on the national team at some of the biggest tournaments in the world. He made his debut for the Cuban National Team in 2000 at the FIFA World Cup qualification. In addition he played in tournaments such as the CONCACAF Golf CUp, Copa Caribe, and the Pan American Games. 

Rey has a great deal of playing experience that has helped progress both the men and women's teams. His technical abilities and advanced knowledge of the game have been great assets to D'Youville.
